In this video I show you how to use Bitaddress.org to create a Bitcoin paper wallet to store your funds safely offline.
NOTE - To have the highest level of security possible, this would be done on a computer that has never and will never connect to the internet. This minimizes the odds that any sort of malware could be installed on your system and gain access to your private keys. As always, please exercise caution and use this or any other security method at your own risk!

Hello, Great video !! can you tell me how to check the balance of my BTCP on my paper wallet I got off there website? It has a tab that says wallet details but when I put my privet key in it just shows both codes and scan boxes. PLEASE HELP!!!
TogetherWorks Foundation at the time I already had bitcoin, but to obtain it you need to use some sort of an online exchange (kind of like buying a stock). I've done videos on QuadrigaCX and Coinbase - but what's available to you will depend where in the world you are located.
Hi Ben, I just finished creating my paperwallet and everything goes well except saving to my usb is not showing the bitcoin address and the private key. So pls if you can show to save to a hardware USB thanks.
Great video, but the question that always comes to my mind is, how do you know that this website is not spitting out pre-generated keys that have been stored in a database somewhere, even if you are "generating" these keys offline what makes you trust the website??
Can I burn a wallet to a cd? If I didn't have a pen drive? I have had a lot of bad luck with pen drives and some external hard drives with error messages saying they need reformatting.. Probly because of viruses.. But nice video👍 those sites look sketchy but this is a disruptive market and may the people win
If you choose the "Password" option to encrypt your private key, is it safe to let others see it (the encrypted version) as it is printed on the paper?
Or is the encryption weak enough (only a password) that they could easily derive you real private key from the encrypted one?
Please don’t recommend binary options to those who are unexperienced. It’s basically gambling. It’s the job of educated investors to help teach the ropes to those who are just learning. Educated investors don’t make anything from promoting options unless it’s affiliate income. There are better ways to generate streams though. Pushing binary options to make a few dollars hurts beginner investors
So people must trust some site to give them private and public keys. bitaddress.org is private on whois. Soon one day people using this address will wake up with zero bitcoins. This whole bitcoin stuff is suspect and quacked.
The site is open sourced and constantly audited. This means that anyone at any time can go in and ensure the code operates properly. There are constantly eyes on it. Not only that, but the code functions just fine if you save the site as a file, put it on a flash drive, then run it on a computer that is not connected to the internet. This way an individual can ensure that their private key is never accessible online to anyone.
EASIEST BITCOIN VIDEO I HAVE EVER WATCHED! THANK YOU FROM THE CRYPTO COMMUNITY FOR THE WONDERFUL AND COLORFUL VIDEO PRODUCTION. CAN'T SAY ENOUGH. WAS SO IMPRESSED THAT THIS IS MY FIRST COMMENT SINCE EDUCATING MYSELF ON CRYPTO. LOVED IT!
Very informative video. Not sure why it started with you walking on a beach or saying where you are, considering it's completely irrelevant. But nonetheless I appreciate the video. Thanks for the upload.
can i use THIS Wallet to give to the ICO company AFTER i sent them $100K USD Wire to get onboard for ICO pre-sale ? Then HOW do i get COMPANY to send my TOKENS + Bonus to this PAPER Wallet Address plz. ??? Kelly ANN in Katmandu ~ ~ i am NEWBIE //
I want to throw my Ledger Nano S!! IT SUCKS!! and I HATE GOOGLE CHROME. You have to download that crap. I'm going to do paper wallet! AND I put XRP on the Nano S and transferring back to Bitstamp and they took/fees of 20 XRP! So now I have 54 XRP
What happens if the paper gets burned in a house fire or wet, or stolen. If its stolen then the thief can not get the money because he does not have the password but then you dont have the paper anymore either so the bitcoin is gone for good!
I did all the steps and come time to print, I forgot that my printer was connected to the internet. Therein, my printer did something I've never seen it do before. It turned red, injected a malicious .dll and intercepted all of my coins and data.
Might be a stupid question as I'm new to crypto but was wondering, is it possible to send Bitcoin from Exodus Desktop wallet to the paper wallet. Reason I ask, exodus does not have an option to scan QR codes. Would appreciate a reply from anyone.
This isn't 100% secure as nothing is. If your phone is hacked, potentially a hacker could see both the public and private keys being scanned and the passcode being entered to gain access to your wallet. It also is dependent on the copay app and service not being compromised in any way causing the private key and passphrase to get stored somewhere.
Christmas gift idea! Print 2 copies and tell them to give one to their significant other or best friend. Give them the password on a piece of paper and ask them to put it somewhere safe (not in the same place as the paper wallet).
it's very difficult to find a computer that has never been connected to the internet. I would have to format my PC or buy a computer for that specific purpose
I have a question, is it a terrible idea to print it at a public place? i don't have a printer and i would have to go to a cafe internet to print it out. That is the only option i have to print it out.
Thank you for the video! easy to understand. I tried putting in a paper wallet 0.0005 and then tried to sweep it with copay. It says "insufficient funds" is there a fee with sweeping wallets? Was mine to small to be sweeped?
Give you drain the funds out of your cold storage wallet shouldn't you create a new wallet after that's done?
It seems like your securities destroyed once you access the wallet to get your money back into an exchange...
You've stated "to have the highest level of security possible, this would be done on a computer that has never and will never connect to the internet." How could you possible do this without downloading the program to make the paper wallets from the internet?
Copay vs coinbase? I just moved most of my coins from coinbase to bittrex, but eventually want to do a paper wallet... Also stupid question, but because copay scanned your secret key and you input the password. Do they now technically have access to that info?
First off all, great video.
My question, if you took the page offline how can it be sure 100% that the address you make is unique, or is it just that the probability of making an existing adress is so small that's it's almost impossible to make a duplicate?
However, I believe there's something stinky with bitcoin and maybe most criptocurrencies (it would take a long conversation because I been doing some research) if you get into there anyway, you have to ask yourself this question: how much money can you afford to lose without going poor or losing your mind? because in few words I believe at some point one of two things will happen: either the bubble burst - and no one knows when - or somebody will pull the plug and all cryptocurrencies will vanish because on internet everything can be hacked, that's why Russia and China didn´t take the bait and banned it (bitcoin).
I think its only for bitcoins, any other cryptocurrency will be lost forever if you try to storage on it. Good question, the paramount is find out what wallet are useful for different kinds of cryptocurrencies or make sure what kind of wallet is the right one for the cryptocurrency you are interested in.
Where can you find a computer that you know for sure has never been connected to internet? I have not bought one recently but as far as I can remember, they all have been tested to work with internet and therefore have been at some point connected, even for a short time.
How to become bitcoin trader? Exactly like Bitcoin, multiple digital currencies exist in the marketplace. So if you prefer to buy a few other currencies which aren`t available on Indian Exchange than you can utilize Bittrex. All you have to do is locate an exchange that you favor. Cryptocurrency exchanges have a massive potential to modify peoples minds and opinions concerning cryptocurrencies generally speaking and their application in actual life. So even in the event the exchange is attacked, its still true that you have your money. Furthermore, the exchanges prepare each and every industry for Bitcoin expansion. Existing stock exchanges will also compete to be able to fulfill the users configuration requirements. Sooner or later later on, the prices will grow more equal, meeting somewhere in the middleyour profit is equivalent to the quantity of convergence. No matter how far it is from Kijun, it is likely to return and test that level at some point. The amount of bitcoin is perpetually changing. In the US, it is 1000 USD. Whats even better, seek the services of a seasoned lawyer or at least ask for an in depth consultation. So youve read the newspaper about the meteoric growth of crypto currencies including Bitcoin or Ripple. Then coming up with 1000s of exchange rates simply to go out and get groceries is nearly impossible. Many cities around the world provide a bitcoin ATM where you are able to trade cash for bitcoin. The cryptocurrency world isn`t efficient.
