Nice video. You can buy Storj easily from binance - https://www.binance.com/?ref=13380711
Storj es un sistema muy bueno para minar… lo mejor de todo es que puedes minar con cualquier ordenador. En esta página encontré alguna info… que merece la pena igual os puede servir. www.como-minar.com/category/9/storj

What is distributed object storage and how can that get rid of middle man or data centers....and how the hell can it increase reliability, security and remove data losses....who is managing the community cloud ? and if i am buying storage aren't this stored somewhere and who ensures that the storage at my neighbour's home is online at all time ....and the little piece of data that is hanging in there is available to me whenever i want? this won't be my main source of income so what stops me from shutting down my harddrive from online share?

Siacoin is better than Maid & storj, do your research people.

+The Daily Decrypt, at about 3:28 you claim Storj would be the first world's first decentralized cloud storage network. Would you please elaborate on how Space Monkey (spacemonkey.com) is not already that? Thanks.
Desmond Johnson (2 years ago)
Hmm...so this is merging [email protected] with the bitchain technology? Interesting.

Is Storjcoin the same as SrorjcoinX ?

Can you please do a show about the dollar pegged digital currency options (i.e. pros and cons of each one, comparison, etc..) I think it would really help people on the fence about digital currencies since bitcoin's price is all over the place.
The Commons Decrypted (2 years ago)
This look like a very cool project, thank The Daily Decrypt

Dear Amanda, I love your show, but why don't you cover Sia? The premise of your favorable presentation of Storj ("to be the world's first decentralized cloud storage offering") has already been met by Sia. Sia is a blockchain based, decentralized cloud storage platform that already has a sizable user-base. There is a network of operating hosts that *currently* provide storage for more than 32,000 files that have been uploaded by users. I myself have more than 20 GB backed up on the Sia network. During your investigative reporting you probably did discover that this is not currently possible with Storj. Sia provide some real benefits to storage providers. Unlike Storj, where a sizable collateral is required, no such is required on the Sia network. Anyone can operate a host without any up-front investment. You can rent out your own space, earn Siacoins (the cryptocurrency used on the Sia network) and then spend it uploading your own files (or, just buy or mine your Siacoins). Sia is nothing short of an impressive blockchain based innovation that *actually works* (!!). Research it and I know you will concur. Version 0.5.1 was just released with a host of new features (for Windows, Mac and Linux). Give it a spin! https://github.com/NebulousLabs/Sia-UI/releases You absolutely should do a follow-up report on Sia. The development team will be happy to talk. Sia also has an active community going on that can provide real user-feedback (not just hype). Your viewers will thank you for it. What if someone's computer is turned off, then you won't be able to access the data?
this dude (1 year ago)
Charlie Potts thats why its stored on multiple farmers computer.
Frank Kenna (2 years ago)
Yeah, I had the same question (just a few months after you did...)
David de Kloet (2 years ago)
I wonder how they do those micro transactions on the Bitcoin blockchain with Bitcoin fees being so high.
Pierre Barnard (2 years ago)
Where can I buy Bitcoin from? Middle Earth...now that was funny...!
Nuno Dias (2 years ago)
+Pierre Barnard You can buy it from Coinbase for example: https://www.coinbase.com/join/559be6c53466395d280000e3 Easy, fast and secure. That's the gateway I use myself.
Robert Balejik (2 years ago)
it'd be nice to do decentralized VPS, that'd be really cool

sweet idea, i'm in. screw the big guys
Stewart Mcleod (2 years ago)
store is storj.
Stewart Mcleod (2 years ago)
Would love to see decentralised you tube using farmers who share their spare bandwidth, it would seem logical next step for store.
Amanda B. Johnson (2 years ago)
+Stewart Mcleod Yes, streaming video would definitely be the holy grail of decentralized hosting. I believe the project Alexandria is working toward just that, and I imagine it's a wish list item for Storj, as well.

SIA is up and running already. If any, that's the first :)
Per Knutsen (2 years ago)
+The Daily Decrypt OMG!! You definitely need to research Sia. The premise of your entire episode is wrong. See my other post.
wanwan (2 years ago)
google SIA coin :)
Amanda B. Johnson (2 years ago)
+wanwan What's SIA?
vcvitiko (2 years ago)
i might just put 500 on this idea.. look at etheruem doing very good.

+vcvitiko We'll be releasing an interview with an Ethereum developer today, so that should be right up your alley.

Every Cool! It's just like the MaidSafe Internet...
Peanutsreveng3 (2 years ago)
Been waiting for this technology to hit the ground for a while. Wonder how long until we're informed that we're supporting terrorist activities, by hiding their data, or some similarly predictable bullshit :( Thanks for the headsup.
harryman11 (2 years ago)
You should do a video on MAIDSAFE really interesting stuff there also, still getting my head around it.
noodlesdoctor (2 years ago)
Isn't this just like maidsafe?
Rob F (2 years ago)
+noodlesdoctor I really can't see any fundamental differences? I guess competition is good though! :)
ausPPC (2 years ago)
Nooo, not tests! ;) But Storj sounds like a better way to ease idle-iMac owning friend into the crypto world than my failed attempt at using it to mine dogecoin. btw How much redundancy is built in to the Storj network?
Amanda B. Johnson (2 years ago)
+ausPPC I believe the minimum number of farmers per file is 3 by default. Then the customer can pay for more farmers if they want, to have the redundancy level they want.
wosterlee (2 years ago)
Very interesting concept. Question: Does a farmer need to keep its computer on while encrypted data is stored on it?
Amanda B. Johnson (2 years ago)
+wosterlee I would imagine so, yes. If the farmer computer hosting the files is turned off or otherwise not connected to the Internet, the file's owner would not be able to retrieve it.
Amanda B. Johnson (2 years ago)
My score on the Intermediate Bitcoin Intermediate quiz was around 87%, if I remember correctly? And lower than that for the Bitcoin Hardcore quiz, yipes! Haven't taken the Ethereum one yet. Quizzes here: https://www.cryptocompare.com/quiz/

How to become bitcoin trader? Exactly like Bitcoin, multiple digital currencies exist in the marketplace. So if you prefer to buy a few other currencies which aren`t available on Indian Exchange than you can utilize Bittrex. All you have to do is locate an exchange that you favor. Cryptocurrency exchanges have a massive potential to modify peoples minds and opinions concerning cryptocurrencies generally speaking and their application in actual life. So even in the event the exchange is attacked, its still true that you have your money. Furthermore, the exchanges prepare each and every industry for Bitcoin expansion. Existing stock exchanges will also compete to be able to fulfill the users configuration requirements. Sooner or later later on, the prices will grow more equal, meeting somewhere in the middleyour profit is equivalent to the quantity of convergence. No matter how far it is from Kijun, it is likely to return and test that level at some point. The amount of bitcoin is perpetually changing. In the US, it is 1000 USD. Whats even better, seek the services of a seasoned lawyer or at least ask for an in depth consultation. So youve read the newspaper about the meteoric growth of crypto currencies including Bitcoin or Ripple. Then coming up with 1000s of exchange rates simply to go out and get groceries is nearly impossible. Many cities around the world provide a bitcoin ATM where you are able to trade cash for bitcoin. The cryptocurrency world isn`t efficient.
